It’s funny how everyday, life brings little changes.
On my last post, I mentioned that I had this idea for the Master bedroom
It all came about when I saw the ceiling opened up
The GORGEOUS HIGH-GABLED CEILING!
Remember how I like to complicate my life?
Well I just had to keep the ceiling open
It gave The Queen that Victorian Farmhouse vibe she already has.
So…THIS HAPPENED!
I know, The Queen may be a bit shocked!
I hope she is not angry
It was only about another 3 feet in height, but I love it.
I wasn’t planning on this
But here we are!
I can’t wait to see this room finished.
In the meantime…
I HAVE A NEW FRIEND!
I was adopted!
By this adorable little creature.
Someone abandoned him, he is definitely domesticated.
CAN YOU EVEN STAND IT?
He has been living in the alley behind my house for about 2 months
I would hear him crying at night
One night about 4 weeks ago I just called out
Kitty Kitty! Kitty Kitty!
He came running to me, crying and rubbing all over me
I gave him a bit of food and didn’t see him again for about a week but I would hear him crying
I was so worried about him
Then I called him again about 2 weeks ago
He came running from under a car in the neighbors yard
You would swear he was finding his long lost owner!
He ran to me again and practically jumped in my arms.
I noticed he was filthy. Not normal for a healthy cat at all!
He started waiting for me everyday after work.
As soon as he heard me come in my yard he would start crying for me.
He would put his paw thru my back gate and we would shake hands
I would pat the top of the fence and tell him to come up and he would jump up
You can’t see it in the photo, but he was drooling quite badly and his eye was running
He was covered in poop and dirt
He cries and wants to be touched constantly
This went on for a few days
Then I noticed he was sneezing and coughing
I knew I had to take him to the vet
They did blood work & and exam
And told me it was very common for people to abandon pets when they have a medical condition or need medical attention.
I cannot imagine dumping this sweet boy!
He has Stomatitis…a very severe case.
Basically Cat Gingivitis or inflammation of the oral cavity
This poor Kitty was in so much pain he couldn’t eat and was crying all the time
He was wasting away
He couldn’t clean himself
He had diarrhea
He was stinky, you can see clots of poop on his tail and feet
But I LOVED him!
They gave him a steroid shot and some antibiotics
By the next day he was SOOOOO much BETTER
And ravenous!
And cleaner….he’s starting to groom himself again
Thankfully his tests came back negative for FIV and Feline Leukemia.
He has a way to go but for now he feels safe
Even with 4 little dogs who are not sure why I won’t let them eat him
He spends most of his day in my yard while the dogs are in their kennel
I hope they will all learn to get along
I’ve never been adopted by a cat
Any pointers would be welcome.
Next time we will take a look at the windows and what is going on with them!
If you missed the last post, please check out how the plaster has been removed from the entire upstairs!
See you next time
